Join me, lovely!

Beautiful: Drum roll please... I have been eagerly waiting to share the news that I will be partnering with Studio Gear Cosmetics to host a master class at ULTA Beauty in November! I am so excited because it will be like bringing my blog to life inside of one of my favorite places in the whole wide world! For me, it all started at ULTA. It was here that I had my first introduction to the world of beauty. As crazy as it sounds, one of my very first purchases (with my employee discount) was a Studio Gear highlighter/illuminizer (please bring it back SG). I loved working there because I quickly realized how impactful makeup can be and how much I could help women understand it. It was a beautiful experience and one that I will always remember!

Gorgeous: It is with my great pleasure that I will be hosting Studio Gear's master class. Basically, a "master class" is a private class held before the store offically opens. It's a chance for women to come together and learn from beauty experts about tips and techniques. It just so happens that yours truly will be the beauty expert facilitating the Studio Gear class on November 16th. Following the master class, there will be a huge SG makeup event. Be sure to schedule an appointment. It will be so much fun! For my class, we will be focusing on Beauty Basics: Makeup 101. Everything you always wanted to know! If hope you can make it!

Makeup: For those of you that are not super familiar with Studio Gear, I would highly recommend checking it out here. They are known as the Brush Authority. I've always considered Studio Gear one of the best kept secrets at ULTA. They are a prestige brand that can hold their own!

Do something lovely: Join me, lovely! Bring a friend or two! Space is very limited so be sure to call 623.935.4186 to reserve your spot ASAP! I can't wait to see you there!

Special thanks to: Michelle Luna-Cason, ULTA Regional Event Manager - West & Hope Lindsey, Studio Gear Cosmetics Account Executive (AZ, SoCal, NV, UT) for allowing me to do what I love so much! I can't wait!

Drop-dead gorgeous!

Lovely thoughts: Halloween is right around the corner! It's funny but it seems the older I get, the more Halloween parties and events we go to! We have an annual Halloween party, we usaully have a Trunk-or-Treat for the neighborhood kids, a Fall Festival at our church, and now that Dean is in Pre-K there is even more parties and school functions to go to! Oh, and don't forget Halloween night! So if you're like me and most of your Halloween festivities kick-off next weekend (and requires you wear a costume), I thought I would share my two favorite Halloween looks in case you are short on time and don't want to spend a ton of money on a costume. These looks can be easily re-created with a simple Halloween headband found at Michael's (or any Halloween store) and makeup that you probably already own. Let's the spooky festivites begin! You will surely look drop-dead gorgeous!

Plum is pretty.

Lovely Thoughts: This week I was planning on sharing a completely different tutorial with you on the blog (I'll save it for anyother day!) . I posted this look for Try It Tuesday on my Facebook page. I got a few emails and messages asking what eye makeup I had on. Everyone seemed to be interested in the metallic-looking shade. The big question is: Can someone who is not in there teenage years wear a metallic eyeshadow? You sure can!  I decided to turn the plum eyeshadow Try It Tuesday look into a tutorial. This is a very fall look, it has a "True Blood" feel that's perfect to take us into October!

The key to wearing metallic eyeshadow is the following:

  1. Make sure you have a good eyeshadow base that will extend the wear of the shadow and not allow it to crease in your lids. Nars is one of the best if you have oily lids.
  2. Select a metallic eye shadow that will not crease. I tried Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24hr in Pomegrante Punk for the first time. I was interested in this one because I read it had ink pigments. It really did stay on and didn't crease! Worth a try if you want to create the look without spending a ton.
  3. Less is more. Only place metallic eyeshadow on your lower lids in a pat motion (including when you blend the plum and gold). Anywhere else would be too much!

I hope this answers everyone's questions. If not, you can send me a note at any time!
